Wavepoint Group open doors to new 'eco hub'

Written by Jason Alexander Read time 4 mins

A dry cleaner has opened its doors to a freshly-remodelled, newly-revamped ‘eco hub’ in Stroud Green, London.

Maria and Zenios, proud owners of ZEN at Home, were initially operating as a drycleaning shop, celebrating over 10 years in business. But their Perc machine was proving problematic; it was incredibly old, its condition was declining at a rapid rate and the cost of maintaining it was hugely expensive.

But they were optimistic.

Maria and Zenios had been toying with the idea of opening up an ‘eco hub’ in the area for some time – a facility that offered eco-friendly laundry and drycleaning services, but also a hub for residents to purchase ‘green’ household products. The local area lacked such sustainable services, although from their own research, they saw that the demand was high.

With this exciting business concept, combined with their failing drycleaning machine, it was the perfect opportunity ‘bite the bullet’ and transform their idea into reality.

The owners were aware of Wavepoint Group as being the go-to supplier for all sustainable business operations. After a number of meetings to plan their business idea, mock-up the interior designs and recommend the most practical shop layout, on top of visiting our state-of-the-art showroom and testing facility for machine demonstrations; ZEN at Home finalised plans to offer Wet Cleaning, eco-friendly laundry, an in-house shirt service and duvet cleaning.

All four aspects of the business would increase profitability and position them as a market leader in the area – the only shop to offer such environmentally-friendly garment cleaning services.

We also mapped out a retail area within ZEN, which stocked environmentally-friendly laundry and household cleaning products, encouraging customers to ‘live a little cleaner’.

We decommissioned and removed their old drycleaning machine and finishing equipment, making way for their Electrolux Professional myPRO XL 12kg washer and dryer set, Pony GE boiler and finishing table.

“Due to Covid, we’ve only been open 4 weeks, but already business is really picking up. The engineers that came to install the machines were incredibly efficient and really cracked on with the job in hand. As with all business refurbs, there have been a few teething issues, but Wavepoint Group have been outstanding in their response to them. Michael has been so supportive with all aspects of the business and is always around when we need him. No matter the time of day, he’s always got time to speak to you and advise. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wavepoint Group to anyone – brilliant service, very experienced and they really care about your business.”
